Photography Honors - The Gardeners of America



Recently, I was notified that two of my photographs received honors in the 2014 Photography Competition for The Gardeners of America.

"Autumn Reflections" won Best of Private, Public or Natural Landscapes:


And, "Flowering Chive" won Best of Vegetables:



I had to laugh a bit when I read the scoring that the judges sent to me.  They had loved one of my photos of Black-eyed Susans, but could not consider it for an award because the flower had a damaged petal.  Now, that was a requirement I've never seen in an art competition.  I had to return to the photo to check out the "problem"!  The photo is actually one of my favorites -- it totally reminds me of summer.
