I just learned that this photo, "Wetland Reflections", was awarded 1st place in the "Garden Views" category for Washington Gardener magazine this year. It was taken with my Nikon D7000 at Huntley Meadows Park.
As we receive the first snow flurries of late fall/early winter, I find comfort in this photo from River Farm (the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society). Full of warmth and sun, snow seems a long ways away.....
We are Jeff Dunkelberger and Caitlin Garvey, a husband and wife team, doing our best to explore our creative selves while at the same time raising two active young boys and working professionally.
We get a lot of questions about what tools we use. For blacksmithing, Jeff makes a lot of specialized tools for certain projects, but he does use a Brent Bailey cross-peen hammer and a J. Blurton rounding hammer. We also use a Chile Tabasco propane forge and a 335-lb EuroAnvil. For photography, Caitlin uses a Nikon D7000 and various Nikon lenses (35 mm 1:1.8G, 12-24mm 1:4 G, 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6G, and 60mm 1:2.8G macro).
