We demo'd at our church this past Sunday in an effort to support the Celtic Spring Fling at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church. Despite damp conditions, the event was a huge hit with the community with lots of music, dancing, a corn hole tournament, blacksmithing, a silent auction, and good food. The kids' anvil was a hit as usual. And, it marks the first ever demo of ours where we served cake -- we might have to continue with that tradition!
We are Jeff Dunkelberger and Caitlin Garvey, a husband and wife team, doing our best to explore our creative selves while at the same time raising two active young boys and working professionally.
We get a lot of questions about what tools we use. For blacksmithing, Jeff makes a lot of specialized tools for certain projects, but he does use a Brent Bailey cross-peen hammer and a J. Blurton rounding hammer. We also use a Chile Tabasco propane forge and a 335-lb EuroAnvil. For photography, Caitlin uses a Nikon D7000 and various Nikon lenses (35 mm 1:1.8G, 12-24mm 1:4 G, 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6G, and 60mm 1:2.8G macro).
